RUSSELL, Kan — Three individuals were arrested on drug-related allegations in Russell County early Friday morning as a result of a hit and run accident on Interstate 70.
At 3:25 a.m. Friday, a Russell County Sheriff’s deputy responded to the report of a hit-and-run on I-70 at mile marker 188. When the deputy arrived, he found a 2013 Chevrolet Camaro disabled in the eastbound lanes.
According to the sheriff’s office, the three occupants in the car said a semi struck the Camaro and fled the scene leaving the car disabled alongside the road.
Upon investigation, the sheriff’s deputy reported finding a large amount of marijuana in the Camaro.
Thrower McKissick and Myronta Jackson, both of Kansas City, Mo., and Tamar Brent, Denver, were all placed under arrest on suspicion of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Brent was also arrested on suspicion of criminal possession of a firearm.
The sheriff’s department reported approximately $40,000 worth of marijuana was seized along with cash and a firearm.
