HARPER, Kan Two Kansas teenagers died and three were injured in a Friday accident in Harper County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Chevy Avalanche driven by Ayron David Maurer, 17, Harper, was eastbound on NE 80 road one mile southeast of Harper.
The vehicle entered the intersection at NE 10 Ave and collided with 2008 Chevy Silverado driven by Joshua Jatie Campbell, 15, Harper, that was northbound on NE 10 Ave.
After impact both vehicles continued in a NE direction into the ditch colliding with a gas line and power pole.
Maurer and a passenger in the Avalanche Samuel Michael Cook, 18, Anthony, were pronounced dead at the scene. They were transported to Prairie Rose Funeral Home.
Campbell, a passenger in the Silverado, John Eshelman, 15, Harper, and a passenger in the Avalanche Colin Nygarrd, 14, Anthony, were transported to Wesley Medical Center.
The KHP reported only Maurer was properly restrained at the time of the accident
