GREAT BEND, Kan. -The Barton County Sheriff’s office reported in a media release today that Sheriff’s officers assisted by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant at a location in the All Seasons mobile home park on Northeast 30 Road, north of the Great Bend Friday evening.
They made an arrest stemming from an incident that occurred overnight on January 1 and January 2, 2015.
Evidence indicated a female victim was held against her will and raped.
Sheriff’s officers began the investigation early Friday morning as soon as it was reported to 911.
Officers develop information the suspect may be armed and the residence was put under surveillance most of the day.
At 6:45 PM the residence had been surrounded by Sheriff’s officers and KBI agents, the suspect was ordered out and surrendered without incident.
Arrested at scene was Colin Michael Welch, 20, Great Bend.
Welch was charged with two counts of aggravated kidnapping, one count of rape, criminal threats and battery domestic violence. Welch was being held in the Barton County jail in
