DODGE CITY, Kan. – The FAA and NTSB are investigating the cause of a small plane crash just after 9 a.m. on Wednesday in Ford County. Two people were injured.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported the 1969-fixed wing, single engine Cessna piloted by Joseph M. Baker, 61, Wellington, was coming from the Wellington area and lost air speed.
The plane clipped some tree limbs and landed in a field just west of 114th Road on Lariat just south of the airport in Dodge City.
Baker and a passenger Stephanie L. Johnson, 43, Wichita, were transported to Western Plains Medical Center.
A third passenger Clarence J. Sponsel II, 33, Haysville, was not injured.
